US More decorations are planned for the park this year, transforming the evening into a spectacular display of lights and community spirit for our residents.
There will be hayrides taking passengers through the pathway in the park.These hayrides are donated by D'Angelo's Farm.A train-ride will be on the Babe Ruth Field for the children that will circle around our newly made wooden Christmas tree and present display.
Once again we will have the musical sounds of an old fashioned brass ensemble along with piped in carols that everyone is welcome to join in and sing along.
The highlight of the evening will be Santa's visit to the park courtesy of the Dumont Fire Department's escort to the field.At 7:00 pm Santa and Mayor McHale will light the borough's Christmas tree to signal the start of the winter holiday season.
Festive holiday bags will be distributed to each of the children attending (while supplieslast) thatarefilled with items purchased with donations made by local businesses in Dumont.
Children will have the opportunity to visit with Santa and have their pictures taken along with this year's Mr. Penguin and CareBear characters.Parents please do not forget to bring your cameras.
There will be hot chocolate available as well as refreshments that can be purchased during the evening.

US Competition Cheering Clothing Drive Dumont Competition Cheerleadings will be holding their Annual Clothing Drive on Thursday, April 23rd from 3:30-6:30 at the Dumont DPW Facility. Donations of clothing, coats, shoes, boots, linens, sheets, draperies, towels, baby items, baby seats, strollers, clean stuffed animals and dolls in good condition are needed. All donated items are sent to Poland to be distributed via churches and orphanages to the victims of the ongoing conflict in Kosovo.

Dumont Day begins with the Dumont Run for Fun which starts at Honiss School.
At 10:00 am, Dumont Day's activities will start at Memorial Park and last until 6:00 pm.
Lots of fun for everyone!!

US The Winter Festival is on Friday, December 4th at Memorial Park. Santa arrives in style courtesy of the Dumont Fire Department at 7pm to light the Christmas Tree. No parking is allowed on Pershing Street between Delaware and Virginia Avenues from 6:30pm through midnight.
This is an evening for Dumont residents to gather for some old fashion community spirit to start off this holiday season with family, friends and neighbors.
Santa will have a few costumed friends this year for the children's enjoyment, so be sure to bring your camera.
There will be a children's train ride and a fantastic hayride around the pathway of the park which is given by D'Angelo Farms.
Decorations and lights along with a cup of hot chocolate given out by our Dumont Police while listening to the sounds of the season will make this a wonderful community event.
The Dumont PBA is also collecting food at the park for their food drive. The items most needed are peanut butter & jelly, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, box juices, diapers, baby wipes, toilet paper, tissues, paper towels, napkins, toothpaste, mouthwash, soap, shampoo, deodorant, shaving cream, dish detergent and laundry detergent.
There is also a toy drive going on at this time by the police department so bins will be up at the park if you wish to donate a toy during this festival. You can also drop toys off at the Dumont Police Department.
