9th Annual Arbor Day Community Celebration, Saturday 4/26/14

The Dumont Shade Tree Commission will be hosting the 9th Annual Arbor Day celebration on Saturday, April 26th, 1:00pm at the Arboretum on West Shore Avenue.

This year is especially significant because it marks the first time we are hosting the event at our newly constructed walkway and gazebo. Completed last summer, the walkway winds through 18 new trees plus a section of heritage trees that form the core of the Arboretum space. The gazebo is the centerpiece that draws pedestrians to the middle of town and the walkway provides both commuters and shoppers a safe and beautiful path through the Borough. The Arbor Day festivities will include:
-Dumont Boy Scouts Troop 64 raising the colors
-National Anthem performed by Elizabeth Synnott
-Mayor's Proclamation
-Presentation of Award of Merit
-Awards for Arbor Day Art Contest
-Unveiling of the memorial brick path at the Arboretum
-Planting the 2014 Arbor Day Tree
