PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

PURPOSE: Borough of Dumont is seeking funding through the State of NJ Green Acres Program for improvements at:

Veterans Memorial Park located at Pershing Street at Davies Avenue,
Charlie O’Connor Park located at Lafayette Avenue and New Milford Avenue,
Berkley Park located at Berkley Place and Barbara Road, and
Bedford Field located at Bedford Road and Barbara Road

PROJECT SCOPE: Borough of Dumont proposes improvements at parks listed for Pathways for accessibility, accessible and sensory equipment, and landscaping improvements.  A concept plan showing the proposed changes, a preliminary cost estimate, and an environmental impact assessment for the project can be found at: https://dumontnj.gov

PUBLIC HEARING INFORMATION: The public is encouraged to attend a public hearing to learn more about the proposal and to ask questions or provide comments on the proposed plan on Tuesday, January 23^rd, 2024, at 7PM. The meeting will be held in person at 50 Washington Avenue, Dumont, NJ 07028, as part of the regularly scheduled Council meeting. The January meeting of the Arts, Beautification & Economic Development Committee will be on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 7:30 pm in the 3rd floor conference room at Dumont Borough Hall, 50 Washington Ave.  Agenda linked below.

 The Borough of Dumont overnight parking restrictions are in effect.

The temporary suspension of the overnight parking ordinance has ended and overnight parking restrictions are again being enforced. No vehicle may be parked on any borough roadway between the hours of 2am and 6am. 

Requests for permission due to guests/construction may be made to the Dumont Police Department on a nightly basis by going to:

The Dumont Shade Tree Commission Meeting scheduled for Monday, January 8, 2024 is cancelled.

The next meeting of the Recreation Commission will be held on Wednesday, January 3rd at 7:00pm in the court room on the 3rd floor of Dumont Borough Hall, 50 Washington Ave., Dumont.

Please note that there will be no garbage pick-up on New Year's Day, Monday, January 1st.  Garbage pick-up will resume on the next scheduled day, Thursday, January 4th.

In addition, the DPW Department will be closed on Monday, January 1st.  If you have a sewer emergency, please contact the Dumont Police Department at 201-387-5000.
